My Practice Areas

As the firm’s principal attorney, I concentrate in personal injury, civil litigation and handling general negligence issues, including tort claims, in both state and federal court. Prior to opening Harman Law, I gained extensive experience in this area of the law, serving as Senior Associate Attorney for a prestigious personal injury firm in Charlotte.

My primary practice area is focused on employment litigation, representing employees and small companies across North Carolina during every stage of employment. I have widespread experience representing clients at unemployment appeal hearings and before courts and administrative agencies with cases concerning all facets of discrimination, workplace harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation, The Family and Medical Leave Act, and wage and hour disputes, among others.

I also serve as counsel for local unions, advising and representing the union and its members in contract interpretation, the grievance process and a variety of employment issues.

I am a member of the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations and am currently licensed and admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts; the U.S. District Court for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of North Carolina; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Beyond The Courtroom

Faith. Family. Service. Those are my priorities. (Although if I’m being honest, football is a close fourth.) Another reason I started Harman Law was to have a better work-life-faith balance. Time spent with your family is precious. And time spent serving others is what we are all called to do.Lake Forest Church, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, The Salvation Army, The Humane Society of Charlotte and mission work in the Dominican Republic are all causes that are important to my wife, Jen, and me and are where we give of our time, talent and treasure.

I also serve as a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Legal Assistance Committee and as Chair of the Membership Committee for the Young Lawyer’s Division. In these roles, I participate in, organize and recruit volunteers for an array of pro bono activities throughout the year.

On the weekends, you can find Jen and me spending time with our triplets, Emerson, Nolan and Miles, born in December 2017, our dog Kinnick and cheering on the Carolina Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes and Virginia Tech Hokies.
